With all the pipelines that are being proposed in Wood Co., we wanted to share some of the information that we have received in our office:

ROVER PIPELINE

Proposed Timeline:

Rover Submits FERC Pre-Filing Request - June 2014

Project Open Houses Conducted Along Route  -  July and September 2014

FERC Scoping Meetings Held Along Route  -  November and December 2014

Rover Files FERC Certificate Application  -  February 2015

FERC Issues Certificate Anticipated  -  November 2015

FERC Issues Construction Authorization  -  January 2016

In Service to Midwest Hub  -  December 2016

In Service to Market Zone North  -  June 2017

NEXUS PIPELINE

UTOPIA EAST PROJECT

Additional considerations to ask about:

•             Get everything written into easement agreement

•             Topsoil---loss and value associated with loss or replacement

•             Years of production loss

•             Subsurface drainage re-install in right-of-way after all settling complete

•             Abandoned oil wells—sealed and closed to standards

•             Cover on pipeline 2’ or greater in relation to deepest drain tile

•             Parallel right-of-way with header mains

•             Pump drainage install and additional yearly operating costs

•             Value of property in future years….development and or lack thereof

•             Repairing drainage in future years because of maintenance

•             Stone and rock---remove, crush on site

•             Cleanup of right-of-way no debris larger than 4”

•             Increased Radon Gas levels

•             Noise from product movement and compression.  Hearing loss from prolonged exposure

•             Stray voltage due to electric charge on pipeline

•             Only product “X” in line

•             Monitoring devices in fence rows or road right of ways—not in crop fields

•             No above ground devices (anything to farm around)

•             Excess soil from pipe displacement

•             24 -7 access to each side of construction easement as pipeline crosses property

Wood SWCD does not have the ability to review or block pipelines.  It is up to the land owner to hire an attorney if you think you need one.
