Is Your Soil Healthy?

We, along with Defiance, Hancock, Henry and Putnam County SWCD’s hosted Dr. Hans Kok, coordinator of the Indiana Conservation Cropping Systems Initiative, for a discussion on soil health.  While you don’t typically think about it, healthy soil is living.  If you take a closer look at what is going on there are many insects, fungi, earthworms, etc. that are in the soil below.  Take a look at the incredible things that worms are doing....

Dr. Kok shared this video with us last night. Another interesting thing that he shared was that worms can live for 20 years with 8 of them being in the same hole. Think about that before your next tillage pass.
