Looking to increase your knowledge on water quality and conservation programs? Are you willing to serve as a resource for other farmers who are also thinking about this? If you answered yes to those question we would like to offer you an opportunity!
The District is offering grants to SWCD cooperators who are attending local, state and federal level training conferences on issues effecting implementation of sound conservation programs. Some examples of this would include; Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference, Ohio No-Till Conference, National No-Till Conference.
While both the Ohio and National No-Till conferences have passed for this year, the Conservation Tillage and Technology Conference is just around the corner March 5-6, in Ada, Ohio. Early registration ends Feb.22 and late registration ends on Feb.27.
The goal is to select farmers/cooperators that would be eligible for funds to pay for registration and offset travel costs to conferences, educational seminars and field days.
If selected you will be asked to provide a report from the training sessions, agree to be a resource consultant, or be asked to be a part of a panel discussion at local Wood SWCD producer meetings or field days.
The limit on funds is $450/farmer. Receipts will be reimbursed up to $450 until June 1, 2013.
